It’s a shame I don’t live in Liverpool, or perhaps it’s a good thing because if I did I would be regularly stuffing my face with cupcakes delivered to my door by Cup Cakes in the City.
Run and founded by Lesley Rawlinson Cup Cakes in the City not only bakes but dispatches gorgeous cup cakes in and around the Liverpool area. Her secret recipe promises to be lighter than shop bought cakes and come in a variety of gorgeous colours and flavours topped with American Frosting and adorned with pretty decorations.
In addition to supplying cupcakes Lesley will serve up a traditional Afternoon Tea for any occasion. She uses vintage crockery (just the kind that my late Grandmother would use!), which is also available for hire.
Lesley herself is an inspiration; she started Cup Cakes in the City after illness forced her to give up her job and with two teenagers to look after! Lesley has funded the business herself with almost no outside financial support. However, she credits the Women’s Organization in Merseyside as being a great support to her in particular helping her with the dreaded ‘business plan’.
